READ Act

At Saddle Ranch, we believe in the power of reading and its ability to unlock a world of opportunity for our students.  The READ Act, passed by Colorado legislature in 2012, focuses on early literacy development for all students.  Using a body of evidence, student's reading skills are evaluated and those who are not reading at grade level are given individual READ plans.   Colorado Department of Education (CDE) Parent Resources

READ plans support a targeted intervention plan to ensure literacy growth for all students.  SRE Staff is specifically trained in the scientifically proven instructional methods for literacy.  READ plans are closely monitored and adjusted to help student's reach their goals.   CDE READ Plan Parent Talking Points

We encourage families to stay engaged with your child's reading experiences at home.  Reading together, discussing books, and fostering a love for reading can have a profound impact on your child's development.
