Laura Bakke

Hello! My name is Laura Bakke. I LOVE teaching third grade at SRE. I'm going into my 7th year here (my 22nd overall). Colorado is my native home-born and raised in Boulder, graduated from CU and continued to UCD for my masters.

I have two grown boys, one is married and expecting a baby August 1st and the younger one is going to be a junior at CU. Luckily we have our 3 year old pup, Nala, to keep us busy at home. I'm looking forward to another wonderful year at SRE!

I am excited to join the Saddle Ranch family for my first year! I am originally from California but have been in Colorado since High School, graduating as valedictorian from Erie High School and then from BIOLA University with a Bachelors in Arts. I stayed home with my two children, Haley and Lily, for many years. My girls are my world and we spend our time exploring this beautiful state in our free time. They are in 3rd and 5th grade in a local DCSD school and have a love for learning, just like their mama. I love people and engaging myself and others in learning. I love to camp, backpack, travel, paddle board, attend concerts and festivals, ride horses, rodeos, music, and spend my time reading or with family and friends. I love to speak in accents and add silliness to my classroom, when appropriate. So don’t be surprised if your child mentions my silly ways. Let’s make learning fun!  This year, with your support, we will embark on this exciting journey together. I am thankful that you and your child will be partnering with me to make this an engaging and successful year. I have been teaching for 3 years and absolutely love the joys and challenges involved in helping children succeed and grow in all areas. My philosophy of education revolves around the whole child, I care deeply for the education and wellbeing of every one of my students. It is a goal of mine to connect and know my students well; to create a home away from home in my classroom. With your partnership, I hope your child falls in love with learning a little bit more each day. Do not hesitate to reach out with questions or to say hello!!
