Caron Elston
Educational Assistant

Hello - my name is Caron Elston. I have been part of the SRE team since 2016, working as an Educational Assistant (EA). Prior to joining SRE, I was a parent volunteer for seven years at my children's elementary school. I loved working with this age group, which is why I then applied for the EA position at SRE.

Originally from London, England, I worked for 25 years in the corporate world before my family and I moved to Colorado in 2006. We are now US citizens and hold dual UK/US citizenship, which is pretty cool!

I have been married to my husband, Craig, for 24 years and we have two children - Joshua and Grace. Joshua is a junior at CU Boulder and Grace is a sophomore at UVM in Burlington, VT.

I enjoy cooking, gardening, yoga and reading and as a family we love to ski (everyone ends up waiting for me these days!), and traveling and are avid fans of Formula 1 racing.

This is my second year as an EA at Saddle Ranch, and being an EA is the most fun job I've ever had. The students, families, and staff at SRE are truly the best!

I grew up in Highlands Ranch and graduated from TRHS, going on to get a degree in Business from CU Boulder, where I met my husband. We spent some time living in Shreveport, Louisiana, where our two children were born, followed by a few years in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan. In 2020, we decided it was time to be HOME with our families, and we moved back to Highlands Ranch.

I'm currently pursuing my Masters in Elementary Education, because being in an elementary school is my happy place and I am passionate about public education. I am looking forward to a long career in education, and am so grateful to have the privilege of being an EA at Saddle Ranch!

After volunteering and subbing for the 2021-2022 school year, I decided to join the Saddle Ranch team! I enjoy working with children and have a first grader of my own. I am originally from New Mexico but have also live in Arizona and more recently Texas. My family and I are happy to now call Colorado home.

Mustang Zone Educational Assistant

This will be my fifth year facilitating the Mustang Zone at Saddle Ranch. Having this program is such a benefit, and I enjoy being a part of helping students be more successful during their day. I started with DCSD in 1994 in the OT Dept.

I love, love, love to travel and experience different cultures. I enjoy paddleboarding, Wordle, the NYT "mini' crossword, baking bread, and spending time with my husband, 2 children, their spouses, and eight grandkids.

I joined SRE in 2016 shortly after enrolling my child and experiencing the strong SRE community. Before SRE, I spent many years in the corporate world, I had the opportunity to get back to my educator roots so took the chance to join the SRE Special Education team.

My husband, 15 year old and our many dogs and cats live in Highlands Ranch. I am a lifelong learner. Whether it is for my work at SRE or my hobbies, I am always working to learn. My hobbies are baking and gardening. My family and teammates often get to test my baking experiments (hope they enjoy most of them).

Librarian

I'm so happy to be back to my roots in elementary education! I began my career teaching several years in first, third, and fifth grades, then took time to stay home and raise my two children. I spent much of that time in their classrooms and at their schools volunteering in many different capacities. Last year I was lucky enough to land the position of Library Specialist here at Saddle Ranch, in my opinion the best school in the district. The library is my happy place where I can combine my passion for children's literture with my personal mission of keeping kids reading books! When I'm not here at SRE you can find me spending time with my husband Andrew, our kids Nicole (20), Ryan (18), and our dog, Shasta. I love to read, ski, hike, do anything in, on, or around water, and am completely and totally bonkers for dogs. We moved here from the San Francisco Bay Area ten years ago and couldn't imagine living anywhere else. I love the SRE community and look forward to a fantastic year!
